TAXIWAY "C" TEC was assigned the initial task of completing a six-week plan review of a design for a 165-foot extension of an existing tunnel under an existing runway. CALTRANS DISTRICT NO.8 RIVERSIDE/SAN BERNADINO, CA TEC was selected by California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to perform construction engineering and administration for construction contracts for various projects in District 8. The scope includes field inspection, plan and estimate review, safety reviews, permit application and reviews, railroad coordination, change order processing review and tracking, progress payments, extra work bill processing, support to the automated daily diary system, preparing and analyzing progress schedules, assisting in claims management, and general office support.

Los Angeles World Airports
SECURITY MODIFICATIONS LOS ANGELES, CA In response to Federal mandates of June 2001, and the latest FAA security requirements in light of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Los Angeles International Airport Project Management Division has developed a scope of work requiring the design and construction of approximately three miles of an airport perimeter security fence/barrier. Included with the perimeter fence design are swells and drainage, perimeter roadways, and power-electrifications and lighting. Additional scope includes design and installation of close captured television, public announcement system, in-line baggage screening, baggage x-ray system, and continuous electronic message change signage. TEC's staff of professional engineers and program managers provided the estimated budget costs for the overall scope of work, including the budget estimates for the recommended enhancements for the baggage security conforming to 100% explosive screening of all checked baggage. TEC's staff was also responsible for the overall CPM scheduling effort on all security design elements as well as construction activities involving CCTV, PA-System, bomb detection devices in baggage areas, and power utility upgrades to three terminals.

LA to Pasadena Gold Line Light Rail Project
PASADENA, CA The Los Angeles County Pasadena Gold Line is a 22-mile light rail transit project extending from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to eastern Pasadena. The Gold Line crosses the Los Angeles River just north of Union Station, and will pass through many small communities including Highland Park, Lincoln Heights, and South Pasadena. The line runs through the beautiful Arroyo Seco to Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena and then along the median of the Foothill Freeway (I-210), and into the San Gabriel Valley. TEC performed detailed value engineering studies, including modified platform designs on selected stations, revised at-grade platform construction methods, and more efficient use of MTA radio facilities. The study also included alternative design and construction approaches.

Central Link and Tacoma Link Electric Light Rail System
SEATTLE, WA The Central Link LRT is an electric rail system that will connect Sea-TAC International Airport, the cities of Sea-Tac and Tukwila, southeast Seattle, downtown Seattle, the University District and Northgate. Central Link includes 23 miles of double track light rail with 21-stations (4 existing) envisioned to be part of a regional system serving counties within Sound Transit District. There will also be a 1.6-mile link between downtown and Tacoma and the Tacoma Dome Station. The fixed guide way will be elevated, at street level, or in tunnels depending on individual routes. The Tacoma Link includes five stations and would serve downtown circulation needs, the University of Washington Tacoma campus, and other Downtown Tacoma destinations.
