TEC Constructors is responsible for overall General Construction of $5 million worth of warehouse and office rehabilitation and tenant improvements for the American Honda Parts Distribution Center of North America. The scope consists of 500,000 square feet of warehouse and 30,000 square feet of two-story office area. The construction effort includes demolition of existing systems; complete replacement of mechanical, electrical, fire suppression, communication, and plumbing systems; new interior walls, doors and frames; a two-stop passenger elevator; all finishes; 175 truck dock doors and leveler replacement; exterior hardscape and landscape; and refurbishment of the parking area. Concurrently, TEC has constructed a 240-car stall asphaltic concrete parking area on three acres, including site electrical and underground drainage.

As general contractor for its own new Southern California headquarters, TEC managed and selected all sub-consultants for the development and construction of a $1.1 million tenant renovation. The scope of work included 5,000 square feet within a two-story office and warehouse space. The construction effort includes high quality interiors, featuring: painted, textured walls; polished granite entrance; suspended ceilings with second-look suspended ceiling tile; recessed lighting throughout the facility; a customized conference room, nine office areas (carpeted office areas and open areas); ceramic tiled kitchen and lavatories; forced air condition/heating system; and fire suppression system.

 



IKEA Retail Facility & Warehouse Project

IKEA Retail Facility & Warehouse Project

The IKEA project is both a retail store and warehouse. The building is a combination of cast in-place concrete and structural steel, with precast concrete floor panels. The facility includes underground parking, market area, showroom, restaurant, material handling, and customer relations' office space. TEC was contracted by the general contractor to provide periodic schedule updates for the contractor, and owner coordination.



Walgreen's Distribution Center

The Walgreen's project is the main distribution facility for Southern California retail stores. The exterior of the building is cast-in-place concrete tilt-up panels, with structural steel columns in the interior warehouse areas. The project includes a sophisticated material handling system for handling full and split cases, and a material retrieval system. TEC was contracted by the General Contractor to provide the baseline schedule and to provide as needed schedule updates for the General Contractor.



Nokomis Shopping Center - Building Renovation Project

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

 

Since February 2004, in collaboration with Bridgecreek Incorporated, the City of Minneapolis and RSP Architect, TEC has undertaken to give the existing Nokomis Shopping Complex a complete facelift. Once the project is completed, the existing suburban shopping center will appear as one building, as opposed to the two buildings that currently comprise the complex. The finished shopping center will house a hardware shop, drug store, laundromat, and restaurant.

 

The project is to convert floors three to thirteen into lofts and live-work spaces. The first two floors, however, will be reserved for commercial and retail spaces. TEC has been working with ESG Architects to execute initial studies, such as the following:



  • Engineering


  • Life Safety


  • Utility


  • Budget (with input from subcontractors and engineers)


  • Design (focused on the feasibility of erecting two high-end condominium units)

There will be extensive work required to renovate the infrastructure. This includes re-doing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. The circulation system will also be rebuilt with new elevators and a second set of staircase connecting each floor. The façade will be beautified with new windows and so will the lobbies and common areas with new flooring, for instance.



Wells Fargo Modernization Project

WHITTIER, CA


TEC Constructors and Engineers were responsible for remodeling and refurbishing an existing and fully operational Wells Fargo bank branch. The facility is a two-story structure within 5,000 square foot. Our scope of work included removing and replacing all millwork and placing in a bank teller counter with electrical, alarm, and data installations during a two-day weekend closure. We also replaced the acoustical ceiling, installed a complete new lighting package, constructed new partition walls, laid out new high-end flooring, and furnished the space. New windows and wall coverings, and new


All work was performed during non-business hours of the bank branch with limited impacts to operations, customer flow, and surrounding businesses. The accelerated schedule duration of 90 days was completed on time without interrupting Wells Fargo's services.



Minnesota Building – Building Renovation

Since May 2003, TEC has been working with Bridgecreek to transform the existing Minnesota Building into a mixed-use commercial and high-end residential space. Built in the 1930s, it is a 13-story structure with a basement. It oversees the beautiful Mississippi River, which is located two blocks away. The current building comprise of 85 units, of which 60% are occupied.
