Project Description
The project consists of the construction/extension of the Bradley West Gates Concourse for Los Angeles World Airports. The new terminal will provide additional service to international large aircraft flights arriving and departing from the airport. As a result of the construction of the new facility, the number of aircraft requiring remote parking will be reduced along with a corresponding number of passengers arriving and departing via LAWA bus operation.
TEC Scope of Work
TEC has been contracted to perform a number work scopes on both the Bradley West Gates and Concourse.
The first scope is fire proofing of the entire structural steel frame of the Bradley West Concourse. Subsequent to erection of the structural steel members and prior to framing, TEC is applying a spray-on fire proofing system to a specific thickness based upon the required fire rating protection per the contract drawings.
The second scope is the construction of a portion of the exterior framing of both the Bradley West Concourse and the Bradley West Gates. Construction of the respective exteriors includes metal stud framing and installation of exterior Densglass board.
In regard to interior finishes, TEC will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of Fire Life Safety equipment such as Fire Extinguishers and Defibrillators throughout the Bradley West Concourse and Gates,
Additionally, on an as-need basis, TEC provides pre-qualified construction trade personnel to facilitate the construction of the Walsh-Austin JV Tom Bradley West Gates project. TEC maintains a construction trade personnel consortium consisting of Laborers (including flagging and general labor), Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Equipment Operators, Teamsters and any specialized trades required by the Joint Venture. The Labor pool is available to WAJV on an “on-call” basis. All personnel are directly employed by TEC and are compensated in accordance with Prevailing Wage and Project Labor Agreement guidelines.
Using busses and vans, TEC also provides the backbone personnel transportation system to the project site from remote parking, offices and lay-down areas. Transported passengers include Walsh-Austin employees, the employees of WAJV’s subcontractors and LAWA support professionals.
