The Eastern Transportation Corridor (ETC) design/build project was a 25-mile-long, three-legged "h" shaped north-south route through eastern Orange County, generally located between State Route 91 and Interstate 5. State Routes SR-241 (north and east legs) and SR-261 (west leg) designate the ETC.
The corridor provides a circulation alternative to residents and employees in Orange, San Diego, and Riverside Counties. Interchange improvements included widening of the existing roads, bridges widening of southbound entrance ramps, constructing ramp meters, and the installation of traffic signals at ramp intersections.
